LICENSE, LOCATION & MANDATE

The License, Location & Mandate of KIST

KIHST is licenced and registered by the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council (UAHPC) and arrangements are under way to get licence from National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), a body corporate that is mandated to regulate tertiary institutions.

Location:The institute is located in Pakayo village, Midia parish in Midia Sub County, Koboko District, about 1.5km from the centre of Koboko municipality along Koboko- Oraba high way.

Mandate:The Government of Uganda recognizes the important role being played by the private sector in providing education to citizens of this country as envisaged in the education act 2008 that provides for any private person or organization to operate a private school. It is significant to acknowledge this role of the private sector in areas where there exists a gap that public sector may not bridge. According to the Ministry of Health National Health Policy of 2010, there is a deficit in paramedical Personnel, hence the need to have more tertiary training institutions in the country to bridge this gap.
